Joe Szocki Director of Publicity & Legislation, PPWU Local: Erie (PA) Area Local, APWU PLUSS Instructor: 2 years
Joe
currently holds the office of President of the Erie Area Local where
he represent 230 - 250 members from all three crafts. His local
covers a large area across rural Northwestern Pennsylvania. He
is also the Director of Publicity and Legislation for the Pennsylvania
Postal Workers Union, a position he has held for many years. In
this capacity, Joe is responsible for keeping the members aware of any
legislative activities that may affect postal workers. Joe also
serves as editor of the PPWU's newsletter, The Keystone.

Szocki has run the full course of PLUSS. He began, in 2000, by
attending the Summer School as a student, taking the "Basic
Grievance Handling" class. Over the next six years he
advanced through the curriculum taking more advanced classes. By
2006, Joe had successfully completed all of the PLUSS courses and
returned in 2007 as an Instructor.
