Wigley's Removal Grievance DENIED at Step II

Earlier today our local received management's step II decision letter officially denying my removal grievance. The denial letter fails to address many portions of the evidence presented by the union during the step II meeting...a meeting that took us over five hours to make our entire presentation. Another noteworthy fact of the step II is management's district "ACTING Labor Relations Specialist" a level 20 (Mills is a level 22...denied the step I) claimed that management was under no obligation to say or present anything at the step II meeting...due to this being a union appeal and not management's... I don't have a contract right in front of me, but for some reason I've always thought the contract stated in Article 15.2 that BOTH parties had an obligation to state in detail what evidence and contractual provisions they were relying on to support their respective positions. Oh, yea there it is in black and white...I opened the contract now to take a peek...looks like I didn't state the exact words contained in the contract...but I'm right on point about management having an obiligation to fulfill at the step II meeting. Not one shred of evidence, contention or contractual provision related to the grievance was discussed by management's step II designee @ the meeting. I'm starting to get this feeling that I'm going to be lynched before I'm ever afforded an opportunity for my case to be heard in front of a couple non-biased individuals that truely have the authority to resolve the grievance. A CASE SUMMARY OF OUR OVERVIEW ON THE REMOVAL WILL BE POSTED SOMETIME THIS WEEKEND. Please keep those letters and calls of support coming...it definitely helps keep me from getting too upset over the total lack of intregity exhibited by management involved in the case up to this point. I guess their mentality is "I'm not paid to think, I just do what I'm told!" Maybe that type of tunnel vision approach enables them to get some sleep at night. I guess they've forgotten, Santa's been paying close attention to their behavior and he don't forget. David
