Our response to the potential consolidation of some portion of our mail processing operations into Pgh. has sucessfully gotten underway. The petition sheets are near completion. We've gotten a positive reponse from the Mayor and city council as they passed a resolution stating they oppose any type of consolidation of our mail and jobs into Pgh. Copies of that were sent to Jason Altmire, Postmaster General Potter and the USPS Manager of Consumer Affairs in Pgh. An editoral by David McIltrot was in the paper today also...asking everyone to write to the USPS Consumer Affairs Mgr. with their comments and inquiries. We are in the process of have a web-site established...name reserved already. "savenewcastlemail.com" Materials for informational picketing curently being gathered. Please consider offering your help....we need lots of help due to the volume of work tasks that need covered. See a union officer or chair person of one of the committees regarding where we need some help. Thanks and keep your eyes on the union boards at work and on the net. Thanks Dave
